The Youth Wellness Advisory Board (YWAB) centers youth voice and leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of education and wellness initiatives. Through structured meetings, facilitated discussions, and community engagement, youth participants develop leadership skills, civic awareness, and a deeper understanding of how cultural, social, and environmental factors influence well-being.
YWAB provides a platform for young people to contribute meaningfully to decisions that affect their peers and communities. By valuing youth perspectives and lived experience, the program strengthens protective factors such as belonging, purpose, and connection, while fostering confidence and responsibility that extend beyond the program itself. The YWAB serves as an advisory board to GHF, sharing updates on the local and school communities and how our organizations can support schools and beyond.
