Lingít vs Tlingit… which is correct?

While “Tlingit” has long been the common anglicized term for the language and identity of the Southeast Alaskan tribe, recent cultural restoration efforts prefer “Lingìt,” a spelling that better captures the traditional, pre-colonial pronunciation.
