What We Do

GHF’s work centers on three interconnected focus areas that support language, learning, and cultural continuity. We strengthen the survival and growth of the Tlingit language by stewarding advanced language materials and creating accessible resources in partnership with birth speakers, educators, and learners. Through culturally grounded education and youth programs, we support intergenerational learning and empower young people, elders, and educators to carry language and culture forward together. Our arts and culture work sustains endangered cultural arts and major cultural projects through classes, workshops, and responsible stewardship rooted in long-term relationships and cultural protocols.
