Unit Overview Over the course of this ecological literacy unit, students will practice science methodologies, mathematical concepts, reading, writing, listening, and oral language strategies while developing understanding for Tlingit oral narratives and our local surroundings. This multi-week unit is based upon the oral narrative Eagle Boy. This story explains how harvesting knowledge was considered a privilege and required a deep respect and intimate connection with the natural world.
