GHF Gives Herring Eggs to Local Communities

The Goldbelt Heritage Foundation recently harvested and donated more nearly 30 boxes of herring eggs to local communities that included Juneau, Anchorage, and Angoon.

“Part of our mission is to preserve and pass on the cultural identity and traditional ways of life of the Tlingit people,” said GHF Executive Director Desiree Jackson.  “One of the ways we are committed to doing that is through the gathering and distribution of traditional foods, which the spring herring egg harvest has long been a part of.”

GHF will be onsite at the Goldbelt Corporate Headquarters located at 3025 Clintin Drive in Juneau, on Friday, April 15th to distribute herring eggs.  The giveaway will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will continue while supplies last.
