GHF has released their 2023 schedule of learning opportunities for Juneau, Alaska. “Last year was a fantastic learning year for our team,” said GHF Executive Director Desiree Jackson. “We received excellent feedback from class participants on what kind of classes they’d like to see us offer and we kept that in mind when creating this schedule.”
Learning Opportunities include classes in weaving, beading, regalia making, formline design, and more. Additionally, on the fourth Sunday of each month, GHF will offer an “open sew Sunday”, which will provide class participants who need additional support completing their GHF project, an opportunity to receive extra assistance from a GHF instructor.
“We are still finalizing GHF learning opportunities for communities outside of Juneau. We look forward to announcing those classes at a later date,” said Jackson. Last year, GHF also offered limited classes in Anchorage and Seattle.
Class registration on the MyGHF Forms Portal is expected to open for each learning opportunity approximately three weeks before the class is scheduled to begin. Most classes will include a small fee to cover the materials cost.
